Dr. Bita Khoshrou is the founder and lead clinician of Sunshine State Dentistry, a multi-location dental practice serving patients throughout Palm Beach County. A Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), Dr. Khoshrou has dedicated her career to advancing her expertise in implant dentistry, surgical rehabilitation, and comprehensive restorative care. Her clinical focus centers on dental implant placement, full-arch rehabilitation, bone grafting, and complex cases that require precision, experience, and a deep understanding of both surgical and prosthetic phases of treatment.
Education and Academic Background
Dr. Khoshrou earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, where she was recognized as an Academic Scholarship Recipient. She completed her undergraduate studies at Temple University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following dental school, Dr. Khoshrou pursued postdoctoral clinical education at the University of Pennsylvania, building a foundation in advanced restorative techniques that would later inform her surgical approach to implant dentistry.
Advanced Implant and Surgical Training
Dr. Khoshrou’s commitment to clinical excellence is reflected in the depth and rigor of her postgraduate training. Her advanced credentials include:
- Fellow, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI): awarded in 2018, recognizing demonstrated competence in implant dentistry
- Misch International Implant Institute, Orlando, FL: comprehensive surgical and prosthetic implant continuum with 156 continuing education credits (2018–2019)
- Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, New York, NY: implant prosthetics and surgical continuums (2016–2017)
- Live Implant Training Institute (LITI), Nicaragua: hands-on surgical training in implant placement, sinus lifts, and ridge augmentation (2018)
- University of Pennsylvania: advanced postdoctoral clinical education
This combination of didactic education and live surgical experience allows Dr. Khoshrou to manage the full scope of implant treatment in-house — from initial CBCT-guided planning through bone grafting, implant placement, and final prosthetic restoration — without referring patients to outside specialists.
Clinical Scope and Expertise
Dr. Khoshrou personally performs and oversees a wide range of surgical and restorative procedures, including:
- Single, multiple, and full-arch dental implant placement
- Bone grafting and ridge augmentation
- Sinus lift surgery (lateral window and osteotome techniques)
- Immediate implant placement and loading
- Implant-supported dentures and fixed prosthetics
- Full-mouth rehabilitation for complex cases
- CBCT-guided surgical planning
- Management of implant complications
Patients who have been told they are not candidates for dental implants due to bone loss or prior treatment failures are encouraged to schedule a consultation. Dr. Khoshrou’s advanced training in regenerative techniques often makes treatment possible for patients who were previously turned away.
Patient Philosophy
Dr. Khoshrou believes that informed patients make better decisions about their care. Every consultation at Sunshine State Dentistry begins with a thorough explanation of the diagnosis, a review of all available treatment options, and a transparent discussion of timelines and costs. This education-first approach ensures that patients feel confident and in control of their treatment journey.
“My goal is for every patient to leave our office understanding exactly what we found, what we recommend, and why. When patients understand their options, they make decisions they feel good about — and that leads to better outcomes for everyone.”
Community Involvement
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Khoshrou is committed to giving back to the South Florida community. She is actively involved in charitable initiatives focused on gender equality, poverty alleviation, and community health support. Sunshine State Dentistry also offers a scholarship program designed to invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals.
